Have you ever thought to yourself, "I'm in need of another t-shirt, and I wouldn't mind if it was deerstalking themed", headed online and quickly became annoyed at just how many results are of white-tailed deer? Well about two years ago, this scenario was exactly what motivated me to start Flint Clothing. At the time, I just could not find deerstalking designs I liked that featured species of deer we hunt here in the UK.
So, I started teaching myself Adobe Illustrator in an effort to create something I would wear. After weeks of working late into the evening, I proudly showed my partner, who is professionally trained in graphic design, my first collection. Her reaction resembled the moment a toddler proudly presents their parent with their first piece of artwork from school which is then ceremoniously displayed on the family fridge before being moved along to the memory box for rediscovery at an 18th birthday party. They weren’t very good. However, they served me well because now I have a professionally trained graphic designer taking my stickmen sketches and turning them into this!
Antlers of the UK
We have six species of deer in the UK, but only 5 have antlers. I wanted to see these in all of their majesties and had been nursing the idea of a 'skull stack' design for months before we could find a way of bringing it all together. I had originally mocked the design from smallest at the top to largest at the bottom. I lost that debate, and I am really glad I did!

What hunter in the UK wouldn't want a hoodie or a t-shirt featuring all of the deer species we are lucky enough to have? This design won't be consigned to the memory box for some time, but in the distant future, I will be pleased to rediscover the idea that started it all. We spent a long time crafting a contemporary take on hunting design and we are very pleased with the result, we hope you are too.
