There is something truly invigorating about shooting your first fish. For most, it will come after an agonisingly exciting breath hold at the end of a long series of unsuccessful previous dives. The repeated breathe-up, dive and hunt being punctuated by the frustrating urge to return to the surface. Finally, to be broken by your first successful shot and that sweet taste of success cooking up your first catch.
Spearo, one of our new designs being released this year, is the result of an exciting process involving some community members, with particular thanks to Mat Coombe, Souls Untapped, West Capades and Spearfishing UK for their feedback during the many revisions of this tee. Their profiles are linked to their names in the blog, so go and check them out if you don't follow them already!
The stylised spearo text on the front takes inspiration from the tribal roots of spearfishing where hunter-gatherers might have ventured out into the sea for the first time with knapped flint spears in an effort to catch their next meal. Whilst the halibut on the back is not commonly shot within UK waters, it represents a bucket list fish for many spearo’s who make the pilgrimage to colder waters in the hope of finding this magnificent fish.
