Something missing
In 2023 our co-founder, Connor, tried to find a clothing brand which catered for hunters, irrespective of their discipline. As someone who enjoyed putting food on the table by sustainably and ethically harvesting meat and fish, he was surprised to not find anyone catering to this already.
After spending several weeks scouring the internet and asking hunting friends, with no success, he decided it was high time to shake up the market and develop his own products. Cue the other half of Flint, and fellow Co-Founder, Cassandra. Bringing a wealth of experience of graphic design, UX/UI design, and marketing from start-ups and small to medium-size businesses. Together they spent a year working with suppliers to find the best garments, collaborating together and with designers from across the globe to create fantastic designs which represent the myriad disciplines of hunting.
From deerstalking to spearfishing, and everything in between.
Together, our Co-Founders felt that there was a gap in the attention to hunting casual wear, so that no matter where a hunter was, they could wear something which represented their values; to ethically and sustainably harvest food for the table, whatever the discipline, wherever the environment. From deerstalking to spearfishing, and everything in between. So they decided to focus first on casual wear products which touch every aspect of the hunter's lifestyle, not just the
technical garments used for a hunt (although these will come eventually!).
As someone who was exposed to hunting in their late 20s, having never been introduced to any field sports or fishing by family and friends, Connor felt that there might be many more people who were like him. Wanting to harvest their own meat and fish to put on the table, but not sure where to start. Both of our Co-Founders want to use Flint as a conduit to promote ethical and sustainable hunting through their products but to also bring new people into the sports so that they too can enjoy the satisfaction of harvesting their own food.
From the concept of wanting to cater to all hunters and environments, the idea for the first collection was born; Woods & Waves. The designs were created to encapsulate the myriad environments in which hunters find themselves, drawing as many people from our community as possible around the same campfire. A humble beginning, and the start of a long journey of discovery, friendship and learning. We cannot wait to bring you all along with us, so lets pack the kit bag and get out there!
